Meet the team
South Texas Hunting Outfitters is owned and managed by Haiden Mensik. Haiden has been hunting for 20 years and has been hunting in South Texas for 15 years. He began his guiding career with quail and nilgai hunts. After receiving a Bachelors Degree in Agricultural Science from Texas A&M University Kingsville he began managing ranches and consulting for landowners in South Texas. This lead him to start his own hunting and ranch management business.
Owner/ Office Manager
Jenna grew up in Corpus Christi and met Haiden while they were in college. After attending Del Mar University she began her career as a Collections Deputy for the Live Oak County Appraisal District. She is closely involved with the marketing, STHO bookkeeping needs, and payroll. Aside from being the owner of a hunting business, Jenna is the owner of 3-M Boutique. She enjoys hunting and shopping in her spare time.
Capt. Will Peirce
Will grew up in eastern NM and spent his college years at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. He graduated with a Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management degree and is no stranger to the hospitality and culinary ways. He has spent many years hunting west Texas, the panhandle and south Texas. Will owns an outfitter business and lives in Rockport, TX where he guides fishing trips in the summer when he is not guiding hunts for STXHO.
Capt. Joe Peirce
Joe has been a full time guide on the Rockport coast going on 13 years. Graduated from West Texas A&M in 2002 with a bachelors in Business Administration. Joe has a passion for the outdoors and enjoy meeting others that share the same.
Capt. Mike Bohn
Mike Bohn is a lifelong native to Texas. He has hunted and fished all over from Colorado to South Texas for the last 30 years. He’s made a career of hunting and fishing traveling as a professional captain for the last 12 years fishing tournaments from the east coast of the US to Texas. Currently running his charter business out of his home town Rockport Tx. When he’s not guiding bay charters he spends the fall and winter chasing game all over the great state.
Cody grew up near Rockport, Tx hunting and fishing since he was a little boy. Cody enjoys waterfowl hunting the most but is very experienced at guiding deer and exotic hunts. During the winter Cody spends his time guiding whitetail hunts for STHO
Capt. Travis Brignon
Born and raised in Houston Texas. Travis started fishing and hunting with his father in Deep South Texas around 6 years old. After graduating high school he moved to south padre island Texas to become a offshore fishing Capt And found his calling fish all summer and guiding hunts all winter for STHO.
Camp Manager / Cook
Chris has been hunting since he could walk. He retired after a 28 year career with Coca Cola and is now one of our camp managers. Chris has an extensive background in customer service and he is no stranger to a BBQ pit. When you are hunting with us Chris will make sure the food is good and you are treated right.
From Weimar, Tx hails Gary Dusek. He is the cook at many of our camps and when he needs to he will put his snake boots on and guide. As a kid he spent a lot of time elk and mule deer hunting in Colorado. He has been hunting in the Hill Country and South Texas for 40 years. His BBQ ribs and steaks are famous with our clients.
Hayden has grown up hunting and fishing in the Hill Country and Central Texas. Knowing deer very well and not being afraid to work has led him to South Texas guiding deer and turkey hunts. When he is not chasing catfish on his hometown lake near Granger, Tx he spends the Winter and Spring in South Texas.
Brad grew up in Mauriceville a small town in east texas near the Louisiana border where he grew up hunting the piney woods and marshes with his father from the age of 6 to present. Hes been guiding deer hunts in the south texas brush country and far west texas for the last 12 years. He also has assisted in lease management in the south texas area for the last 8 years. Brad also is an avid bird hunter/guide that enjoys dove, quail, duck and goose hunting. Brad Oldbury
Marty T Gilchrest
43 yrs old, born and raised in Comanche Co Texas in a farming and ranching family. Marty has been a Lifelong hunter and outdoorsman and is also a 5 yr veteran US Army Recon. He has been a full time taxidermist and guide since 2011.
Kyle grew up hunting all over South Texas. He started running dogs hog hunting when He was 12 and opened his own kennels with a friend a few years after that guiding hunts around the grain fields and ranches outside of Corpus Christi. That lead kyle to guiding whitetail and exotic hunts for the King Ranch and the Santa Cecilia outside of Raymondville. Kyle has volunteered as a guide for the Texas 4-H Youth Hunting program for 4 years and helped put on numerous workshops and day camps to educate new and upcoming hunters. He spends his winters guiding whitetail and exotic hunts for STHO and his summers welding and working in refineries all over the state.
Josh Graduated from Texas A&M University Kingsville in 2011 with a degree in Range and Wildlife. Josh has worked on various ranches managing and breeding whitetails, as well as guiding hunts. Josh grew up hunting central, south, and the hill country of Texas. He currently works as an Engineering Technician for TxDoT. Josh also owns Rocky Creek Trapping.
Guide/ Camp Manager
Brandon is a native of North, Tx he was born and raised in Bohnam, Tx. Growing up duck and goose hunting with his father he has spent a lot of time outdoors. He started his own duck and goose hunting guide service and has been in the business for over 20 years. Brandon spends his winters with STHO managing the camps and guiding hunters. He has many nicknames and is one of the funnest guides we have.
Will is the youngest in the group. He was raised in the small town of Riviera, Tx and has been hunting since he was 6 years old. He attends Texas A&M University Kingsville and working on completing his degree in Agricultural Science. Will is a part-time guide and assists STHO with all of the Fall hunts.
