Trophy Axis Hunts in South Texas & Texas Hill Country

Few hunts in Texas compare to the beauty and challenge of pursuing trophy Axis deer. Known for their striking spotted coats, impressive sweeping antlers, and year-round rutting behavior, Axis bucks offer one of the most exciting exotic hunting opportunities available anywhere in North America.

Through South Texas Hunting Outfitters, our Axis hunts take place across four carefully managed ranches located in the George West and Junction areas of Texas. All ranches are conveniently located within two hours of San Antonio International Airport, making travel simple for both in-state and out-of-state hunters.

Our properties range from 500 to over 4,000 acres, providing a variety of terrain and habitats that allow for excellent glassing opportunities and well-managed populations of trophy Axis deer.


Trophy Quality Axis Hunts

We take pride in offering some of the highest quality Axis hunts in Texas. Our program focuses on mature trophy bucks, and we work hard to maintain the caliber of deer our hunters expect.

Our hunts average 34” Axis bucks, with our guides primarily targeting 30”+ mature deer. By managing harvest numbers carefully and prioritizing age and genetics, we continue to produce the type of trophies that make Axis hunting so memorable.

These hunts are conducted during the prime season from mid-April through July, when Axis bucks are most active and highly visible.


A Limited, Quality-Focused Experience

Unlike high-volume operations, we intentionally keep our Axis program small and highly curated.

Each season we take a limited number of hunters across our ranches. This approach ensures every hunter receives the attention, time, and opportunity needed to pursue a true trophy animal.

Quality over quantity is our motto, and maintaining that philosophy is key to protecting both the experience and the long-term health of our Axis herds.


HUNT DETAILS
Our Axis hunts are designed to be comfortable, well organized, and highly productive.

Hunt Package Includes:
• 3 days / 2 nights lodging
• Fully guided Axis hunting
• All meals during your stay
• Comfortable ranch lodging
• Experienced guides and transportation on the ranch

Hunts are scheduled in the following rotations:
• Monday – Wednesday
• Wednesday – Friday
• Friday – Sunday

NON-HUNTING GUESTS
Non-hunting guests are welcome to join the trip and enjoy the ranch atmosphere.

Non-Hunter Rate:
$500 per guest for the duration of the hunt

This includes lodging and all meals during the stay.

RESERVATIONS
Due to the limited number of Axis hunts offered each season, dates tend to fill quickly.

A deposit is required to reserve your hunt dates, with the remaining balance due prior to arrival.
